We now have the release of an outstanding Saint Emilion with Larcis Ducasse available at £480 per case. This is one of the great terroirs of the appellation - situated alongside Pavie - that has been revived in recent years by the talented team of Stephane Derenoncourt and Nicolas Thienpont. Allocations have been cut by 30% and at the moment we only have enough quantity to confirm pre-orders and those wish-listers who bought this wine in 2008. Pre-order customers will be invoiced now. Those on the wish list have until 10am today to confirm their orders and any remaining stock will then be put on general sale.

 

This is the first 2009 to be released below our bottom estimate and at less than half the current price of the 2005 vintage it looks sure to sell out quickly.

Also available at £450 per case is La Gomerie, the small super-cuvée made by the owners of Beausejour Becot.

 

"This has a very refined, well defined nose with pure black cherry and raspberry fruit with well integrated new oak. The palate is full-bodied with fine tannins, very good weight and purity, a sense of minerality and typicity showing through nicely on the ripe red-berried fruit.
