After a couple of days off for holidays in France we were expecting a flurry of releases today but there's only four to report so far.

The brilliant wines of Francois Mitjavile are now out. These amazing wines seem, to us, to be totally different from anything else produced in Bordeaux (the closest stylistically is Le Pin) and they express the character of the owner and the terroir far more than the vintage. The prices are the same as last year with Tertre Roteboeuf at £1290, Roc de Cambes at £460 and Domaine de Cambes at £295. This is the only proprietor who can possibly get away without reducing his prices in 2011. As ever, only small quantities are available.

In Margaux we have du Tertre at £225 which is a significant drop on 2009 and 2010 prices and only a little more than the 2008 release price.
