Tasting Notes

This is just a baby. So dense and refined. Superb intensity and power. Full-bodied, tight and exciting. Incredible. Spice, tea leaf and berry. Goes on for minutes. Better in five or six years but beautiful now. Decant two hours in advance of serving.

James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com, June 2016

A ripe expression, showing broad shoulders, this is still monolithic and dense at 15 years. Cherry, plum and stony aromas and flavors are supported by fresh acidity and dusty tannins. The tight finish contains a mineral element. Opens up with time in the glass, but could use another 5 to 10 years of aging.-Biondi-Santi non-blind retrospective (July 2012). Best from 2020 through 2060. 1,478 cases made.
