The estate’s second wine, the 2004 Le Petit Cheval, exhibits a spicy, peppery bouquet offering notions of sweet mulberries, cherries, and herbs. It is meant to be drunk over the next 7-8 years.
Deep, slightly brownish crimson. Some distinctively warm, ripe flavours on the nose. Much less stringy than most 2004 St Emilions with real warmth and softness of tannins. Pretty and gentle - with the significant Merlot content presumably responsible for the unusually easy approachability of this second wine of Cheval Blanc. Drink 2010-18
