Tasting Notes

Brought up half in tank and half in foudre, the 1999 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee de Mon Aieul is a fabulously textured, elegant and expressive 1999 that has lots of spice-box, chocolate, smoked meats, tobacco and dark fruit aromas and flavors. Full-bodied, concentrated and rich, it's fully mature and drinking at point, but it should hold nicely going forward.
