The 2004 Doisy-Daene had a peculiar showing, one that certainly has not reached the heights of previous bottles. It has a straightforward gooseberry and white flower-scented nose that is missing some depth and penetration. The palate is better, with an appealing, caressing entry of tangerine, apricot and marmalade, though it needs more tension toward the finish, which is content to doggie paddle rather than front crawl. This just seems a little "flightless" to what I was expecting. Drink now-2020. Tasted February 2014
Some apple and lemon character with medium sweetness and a fresh finish.
Light gold. Sweet, vivacious, barley sugar aromas. Some cheesiness. Lovely viscosity. Not enormous but concentrated and tight. Lots of acidity, not the richest but well balanced.
