Selosse Millesime, Champagne Jacques Selosse 1999

Tasting Notes

The Selosse heavily oxidative style works wonderfully well with the Extra Brut category because it helps to cut the extreme richness and bring focus and detail. I was highly impressed by the layering of the yeasty and slightly citrus-infused nose that is very much in keeping with the rich, full-bodied and naturally sweet flavors that turn bone-dry on the sappy, deep and hugely long finish. This is very vinous in character and the effervescence seems almost incidental. Terrific juice that could be drunk now or aged for a long time.
