A beautiful 1,000-case blend of 83% Semillon and the rest Sauvignon Blanc from the owners of La Mission Haut-Brion and Haut-Brion, this beauty exhibits oodles of marmalade, honeysuckle, caramelized melons and candle wax in a medium-bodied, authoritative style. Drink it over the next decade or more.
A blend of 83% Semillon and 17% Sauvignon Blanc, the second wine of La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc has a tight, shellfish tinged nose from the Semillon with hints of green lemon and pink grapefruit. The palate is medium-bodied with a fresh, crisp green apple tinged entry, good acidity here but perhaps just a little short towards the finish. Tasted March 2011.
This is the second wine of the whites of Haut-Brion and La Mission. I like the lemon, pineapple and white peach character. It's and fresh with mineral and honey too. A little one-dimensional in the end
83% Sémillon, 17% Sauvignon Blanc. Pale greenish. Rich nose with a suggestion of the most exotic bath oil possible. Very fresh and again some citrus peel. A little dry and sudden on the finish. But there is great vivacity here. 13.8%
Grapefruity and slightly exotic nose, fleshy Semillon fruit with Sauvignon lift, great harmony and length. Drink 2012-18.
A blend of 83% Semillon and 17% Sauvignon Blanc, this effort reveals lots of oily citrus, orange marmalade, melons and honeysuckle characteristics. It should drink well young and last for 10-12 years.
