Tasting Notes

(a blend of roughly 66% sauvignon blanc and 34% sauvignon gris, cropped at 36 hectoliters per hectare; 14% alcohol; 50% new oak) Straw-gold. Flamboyant nose offers sexy aromas of nectarine, peach, white flowers, honey and minerals. Creamy, dense and rich, with ripe apple and citrus flavors leading to a very long finish. This very satisfying, weighty wine leaves a lusciously sweet, honeyed impression on the taste buds and should give great early drinking pleasure. From a one-hectare parcel on gravelly soil, this should be another topnotch Monbousquet Blanc. Although this white wine is routinely less hyped by the press than most of the red wines made by Gerard Perse and his team, this is not the first time I think it's one of his top three or four wines.
