Chapelle Chambertin, Domaine Perrot-Minot 2012

Tasting Notes

A ripe but airy nose of cool black cherry, spice and gentle earth nuances introduces round, delicious and highly refined medium-bodied flavors that possess fine mid-palate density. There is an attractive suppleness to the highly complex, balanced and gorgeously long finish. This is a Chapelle of understatement and harmony that delivers stunningly good depth.

(these vines are 88 years old, according to Perrot-Minot): Good deep red-ruby. Brooding, inky black fruit aromas show a hint of reduction. Sweet and highly concentrated but extremely closed, even clenched, today and hiding its personality. The crushed blackberry and cassis flavors are as black as night. Very difficult to taste in its present form.
