Tasting Notes

Robert Parker, Wine Advocate (128), April 2000

The 1997 is one of the finest Poujeaux I have ever tasted. It stands out in the vintage for its opulence, wonderfully sweet, ripe, jammy black currant and cherry fruit, in addition to copious quantities of glycerin, extract, fat, and lusciousness. Unctuously textured, thick, and juicy, with low acidity, exceptional purity, and gobs of fruit, this knock-out Poujeaux will be drinkable when released, yet age well for 12-15 years.
