Vosne Romanée, Domaine d'Eugénie 2008

Tasting Notes

A very fresh, ripe and relatively elegant nose of red and blue pinot fruit that is nuanced with black
cherry and spice hints that are also reflected by the dense, sappy and delicious middle weight flavors that are supported by
unusually sophisticated tannins for this level, all wrapped in a linear and precise finish. A lovely villages.

Medium red. High-pitched aromas of black cherry, redcurrant and spicy oak. Supple and sweet but with very good tension to the cherry fruit. Strong acidity and a firm tannic spine give this wine a sharply chiseled character. Finishes saline, dry and long. Not an easy premier cru: I'd give it at least a couple years in the bottle. This cuvee included the Clos d'Eugenie parcel that will be bottled on its own starting with the 2009 vintage.
