The 1997 Angélus reveals a saturated purple/black colour. The nose offers up aromas of sweet blackberry and truffle-scented fruit with a notion of Provençal olives and toasty, smoky oak. Surprisingly powerful for the vintage, with moderate tannin, medium to full body and excellent depth, this wine should merit an outstanding score after bottling (no fining or filtration are performed at this estate). Anticipated maturity: 2002-2016.
