Tequila, North America's first commercially produced alcohol, is a spirit made from the Agave plant in Mexico. It has been consumed, in one form or another, since the days of the Conquistadors and whilst many are familiar with it as a cocktail component, more and more people are taking it much more seriously. There are many different types of Tequila and, just like a fine Cognac or Whisky, most can be enjoyed on their own, as a sipping drink. So forget the benefits of the Tequila Worm, or that it is made from cacti (both myths) and take this spirit seriously, as there are some very complex (and expensive) bottles to be had out there....
