En Primeur News : Tuesday, 23rd May 2017
There is fresh First Growth action this morning after yesterday's failed release of Lafite. Like at Palmer, the proprietors of Angelus and Pavie have made outstanding wines and feel that customers should pay more than the current market prices of their 2009 and 2010 vintages. Bold or foolish? We shall see. Both wines are now available at an eye-watering £3580 per dozen - but they do have massive scores from the critics.
Haut Brion's new Saint Emilion property - Quintus - is released at the same euro price as last year and is offered at £1120 while the second label - Dragon de Quintus - is out at £280.
Also in Saint Emilion we now have Clos de l'Oratoire at £350.
