Today we have two of the big names of Pauillac to follow yesterday's release of Pichon Baron.
Pichon Lalande is out at £1420. This is 5% higher than the Baron and more expensive than the current price of the 2009 and 2010 here but Nicolas Glumineau does believe that he has made one of the greatest Pichon Lalandes ever. WA rating 96/98.
Pontet Canet is offered at £1370. This is, of course, cheaper than the 100 point rated 2009 and 2010 but more expensive than the mature 2005 and 2000. WA rating 95/97.
It's worth reminding customers that the 95/97 point rated Grand Puy Lacoste is still available at £735 and likewise Léoville Poyferré at £800. Brane Cantenac offers the best points per Pound ratio of the vintage at £630 and a 96/98 WA score.
Also released today was Haut Bailly but our small stocks have sold out to those who bought it last year.
Rather bizarre was the release of Pomerol superstar L'Evangile late on Friday afternoon at £2125. This is one of the top Pomerols of the vintage. It's considerably cheaper than the 2009, and just under the current price of the 2010 vintage.
