We have two big names from Pomerol out this morning. Clinet has had some really impressive scores from the critics and the Château has priced it correctly at £770 per dozen. This is about 13% cheaper than the 2015 or 2016 vintages.
Gazin at £756 looks too expensive to us as it is released at over 30% up on the exceptional 2015 vintage (95 points NM) which is still available at £600. The 2016 is also still on the market at £660 and even the magnificent 2010 is at £780.
A real surprise to us this year was the quality of Siran in Margaux. There's been a real renaissance here and at £245 per dozen this is clearly very good value.
In Saint Emilion, Quinault L'Enclos is out at a fraction above the price of the 2016 but the Cheval Blanc team are doing a brilliant job here and this is the best Quinault that we've ever tasted. £290 per dozen is a very fair price.
