Nose: Lots of fresh apples and red apple skin. Honeysuckle and light vanilla fudge. Great balance between the fruit and sweeter aromas.
Palate: The sweeter flavours come through first, followed by crisp apple and runny honey. The woody flavours are building up and there is some soft spice in the background, like nutmeg. White chocolate and a tiny bit of tropical fruit.
Finish: still sweet, and the spice builds and builds as the finish goes on. A little chilli heat and freshly sawn oak. Long finish.
Conclusion: Cracking cask. It’s already very good, but will gain in complexity as it ages further. Surprisingly spicy for an ex bourbon cask, really good.

Glen Grant was built in 1840 and is one of the most famous and iconic distilleries in Scotland, and is one of the top five bestselling Single Malts. Glen Grant is located in the heart of Speyside, Scotland's largest whisky producing region. The spirit they produce is an archetypal Speyside whisky with notes of green apple, rich cereals and caramel. Glen Grant has a very long aging potential, some of the oldest whiskies ever released are from Glen Grant, and are capable of reaching over 70 years in age.
