Brandy

Brandy is made by distilling wine and has been around, in one form or another, since the 13th century.

The two most popular brandies are Armagnac (brandy made exclusively in the Armagnac region in southwest France) and Cognac (brandy made in the Cognac region, just north of Bordeaux).

There are several other types of brandy made around the world, as well as eaux-de-vie, which is the French term for fruit-based brandies.
