Another estate owned by the huge negociant firm of Gabriel Meffre, Chateau Raspail has fashioned an outstanding 2007 Gigondas. Its dense ruby/purple color is followed by aromas of licorice, spring flowers, crushed black currants and cherries, underbrush, and forest floor. Full-bodied and rich with sweet tannin and crisp acids, this beauty should be consumed over the next 10-12 years.
