**Note: also from 60 to 70 year old vines**
A deft touch of wood sets off spicy, dense and well-layered aromas of plum and black cherry liqueur that precede impressively extract-rich and mouth coating flavors that possess a velvety texture on the powerful and persistent finish. Despite the presence of so much extract the finish evidences a slight austerity that reminds one that this is definitely a classic Gevrey from a cool terroir. At least a decade of patience will be required.
