Chocolaty, smoky, earthy notes jump from the glass of this dark ruby/purple-tinged wine. Seriously endowed with moderate tannin, beautiful elegance and freshness, and a nicely layered mouthfeel, it should drink well for 12-15 years. Drink 2010-2025.
Good medium ruby. Cool, pure aromas of black cherry, bitter chocolate and minerals. Supple and sweet, with mineral and licorice flavors complicated by an exotic suggestion of white fruit. In a fairly round but juicy style, with modest real thrust but good breadth. Finishes with reasonably ripe tannins and good verve. Nicely made.
