Gevrey Chambertin en Champs, Domaine Geantet-Pansiot 2012

Tasting Notes

Here the nose is slightly riper with even more complexity to the intensely earthy wild dark currant, humus and underbrush suffused nose. There is outstanding concentration to the dense and serious but not particularly rustic middle weight flavors that possess plenty of tannin-buffering dry extract, all wrapped in a wonderfully deep, mouth coating and impeccably well-balanced finish. This is a very impressive Gevrey villages and one that should reward up to a decade of cellaring.

Plummy fruit and a medicinal character too. Strong and structured. Long finish with firm, lingering tannins. Good, typical Gevrey – muscular and taut.
