The 1997 Barolo Castelletto (in issue #124 this wine was incorrectly listed as Castillero) boasts stunning aromatics of spice box, tobacco, kirsch liqueur, licorice, rose petals, and cedar. Corpulent, full-bodied, exotic, and richly layered, with the vintage's tell-tale glycerin and low acid, fleshy, higher than normal alcohol levels well displayed, it is a nearly over-the-top, exotic Barolo to drink over the next decade.
