Chambolle Musigny Amoureuses, Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé 2005

Tasting Notes

A deep, lush, voluptuous nose of raspberry, violets, strawberry and a touch of cut grass. Incredibly pure and elegant. The medium-bodied palate has silky tannins, cashmere texture with perfect acidity. Fleshy and sleek, a wine that belies the solid tannins and puissance that lie underneath the bonnet of this purring Bentley. The finish brings a tear of happiness to the eye. Drinking 2012-2020. Tasted January 2007.

The 2005 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses displays sweet aromas of peony, ripe black raspberry and cassis. A tender palate impression of subtle creaminess, ultra-refined tannins, insistent freshness of fruit, and spice and chalk nuances leads to a finish of startling clarity and purity, with evocative florality, sumptuous ripeness and ineffable mineral shadings.
