The 2023 La Reina, from their property in San Juan de la Nava, had five different vinifications because it's from a fairly large vineyard that was harvested over almost three weeks. It was made with more or less full clusters, on average 60%, in concrete, stainless steel and oak. Thirty percent of the wine matured in used oak barrels for around 10 months. All of the wines have a clean and modern profile, with moderate extraction and a long infusion that delivers elegant and perfumed wines. This has a medium to full-bodied palate and fine, slightly dusty tannins. This is different from the wine from 2023; there's more complexity, depth and freshness. 9,333 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2024. Drink: 2024-2029.
Wild strawberry and cherry lead this expressive Gredos Garnacha grown on typical granitic soils, showing the lift of whole bunch and spicy aromas of clove, pepper, and a touch of ginger. The tannins are chalky and savoury, with a bright granitic energy. Aged 11 months in concrete, old oak, and stainless steel, it’s ripe, textured, and impressively balanced.
Aromatic with thyme, lavender and cherries. The palate is medium- to full-bodied, soft and supple, with mellow tannins, succulent fruit and a flavorful finish. Chiseled and herbal in character. From a 6.2-hectare head-trained vineyard planted in 1978 on granitic soils. 30% whole-cluster and aged in cement and used oak. Drink or hold.
