Tasting Notes

This up-and-coming Pomerol estate has fashioned a potentially outstanding 2000 revealing the vintage's wonderful sweetness as well as a dense purple color, an opulent texture, a layered, concentrated mid-palate, and monderate tannin in the impressively deep, structured finish. It will require a few years of bottle age. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2016.

James Suckling, WineSpectator.com, January 2003

Slightly less impressive from bottle than from cask, this is still an excellent effort, offering a deep ruby color, a sweet nose of mocha and berries, dry, extracted, yet fleshy flavors, medium body, and light to moderate tannin in the finish. There is a certain angularity to the tannin, suggesting 1-3 years of cellaring is required. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2016.

A heavy, flamboyant display of smoky oak, plums, and overripe black cherries provides an exotic introduction to this full-bodied, soft, round, internationally-styled Pomerol. This hedonistic wine is already delicious. Anticipated maturity: now-2012.
