Tasting Notes

Abundant, ripe cherry and currant fruit, spice box, licorice and sweet tannin represent the inimitable Thunevin style. The wine has an expansive, medium to full-bodied mouthfeel, and beautiful purity. This is a gorgeous, sexy wine to drink over the next 10-15 years. Drink 2015-2030.

Blackberry and light mineral galore. Full-bodied, round and silky. Pretty wine. Second wine of Valandraud, and wonderfully crafted

Tasted blind. Dark, round, lighter than most with a hint of animal gaminess. Ready. 13.5%
Drink 2012-2020

Like Monbousquet, quite advanced and sweet. Juicy fruit. Velvety. Certainly very right bank. Firm oak

70 per cent Merlot, 30 per cent Cabernet Franc. The second wine of Ch Valandraud from specific parcels of vines. Rich and plumcake like. A bit brutal - because it's in the style of Valandraud but without the ballast. Very dry finish. Quite tough on the end. Not harmonious. Drink 2012-20.
