Slightly overextracted, but shows serious aromas, with lot of black licorice, violets, berries and coffee on the nose. Medium to full bodied with a herbal, berry character, medium tannins and a fresh finsih. Best after 2004. 830 cases made.

Score: 90/94James Suckling, Wine Spectator

The third vintage of this hot new super-cuvée, even more intense than Le Pin and Valandraud. A blockbuster from young superstar winemaker Stéphane Derenoncourt. The wine is made from 45 year old vines - 80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc from a yield of only 22 hectos per hectare. Production approximately 850 cases, aged in 100% new oak. The wine is massive and port-like in its concentration. Huge, thick, ripe and velvety on the palate. Breathtaking.
