Tasted at the UGC. Anyone else notice the splendid wines emanating from Dauzac in recent years? Others seem to be finally cottoning on, for this is another great Margaux from Andre Lurton. A fresh, lithe nose with great delineation: raspberry leaf and wild strawberry to the fore. Lovely ripe red-berried fruit on the nose, far more natural than others at the UGC tasting with a lovely vanilla tinged, feminine finish. Excellent. Tasted April 2007.
Wonderful perfumes, with floral and berry character. Full-bodied, with a solid core of fruit and a long silky-textured finish.
Very impressive dark crimson, very lustrous. Curious, super-concentrated(?) nose. Unusually deep colour. Difficult to find the fruity core even though there is lots of tannin. Actually not that much acidity. It’s all IPT! I find this wine unbalanced and overworked. Hollow. The extra 0.5 is there for those who value colour and tannin above all else. I find it difficult to find the fruit.
Full ruby-red. High-pitched aromas of blackberry, espresso, licorice and mint. Silky and fine-grained, with a juicy quality to the dark fruit, truffle and smoke flavors. Spreads out nicely on the finish, displaying firm but sweet tannins and nice length. A good showing.
