Tasting Notes

The unctuous, opulent 2003 Laville Haut-Brion is stunningly rich, full-bodied and intense. Reminiscent of the 1989 and 1994, it offers a powerful, concentrated, honeyed grapefruit character intermixed with citrus oil, flowers, and waxy marmalade, admirable acidity, and a tremendous mouthfeel as well as length. It should drink well for the next 25+ years.

Beautiful aromas of lilac, lemon and honey follow through to a full-bodied palate, with very ripe pineapple flavours and a long, long finish. Lots of tropical fruit character. A powerful wine. Best after 2008

Lots of lemon, lime, and honey aromas with hints of other citrus fruits. Full-bodied, with exotic fruit character. Fresh and long. Papaya, mango and banana. A tropical drink. One of the most exciting young whites I can remember tasting from barrel in a long, time.
