Tasting Notes

The 2005 Raymond-Lafon is medium to deep straw-gold in color. It shoots out with citrus and tropical notes followed by fallen leaves, crushed rocks, and beeswax. The rich, unctuous palate is so youthful, with tons of expressive fruit and seamless freshness, finishing long and spicy. This should age incredibly!

Very rich and direct on the nose. Lots of botrytis. Very, very sweet and the acidity just struggles to assert itself. Very rich but zingy aswell. Powerful but not hot. Quite open already on the nose but there is a lot here. BIG wine! Drink 2016-28

Very pure and fresh, elegant botrytis fruit on the nose. Very long flavour, rich without being too sweet; really fine and quite restrained at present. 4 stars
