Musigny, Domaine de la Vougeraie 2006

Tasting Notes

In contrast to the reticence of the prior grands crus, this is pure, elegant and soaring with a gorgeous mix of dark berry fruit and floral notes, particularly violets that complement to perfection the rich and supple mid-palate oozing with dry extract and culminating in a balanced, textured, detailed and explosive finish that really makes a statement. This is a balanced and serious Musigny that does not lack for a sense of finesse and assumes its usual place as class of the range in 2006. In a word, terrific.
