Strikingly perfumed, spicy and now mostly mature aromas speak of a mix of both red and dark currant, earth and exotic tea nuances. There is outstanding complexity to the velvety, pure and intense middle weight plus flavors that possess that beguiling sense of underlying tension before culminating in a mouth coating and gorgeously persistent finish. This remains quite firm though it's not as austere as the Chapelle and for my taste this could be drunk with pleasure now. That said however, I would still be inclined to allow this another 3 to 5 years of cellar time first.
Wonderfully sappy and seductively bright fruit with spicy, rounded and thick flavors that combine power, grace and superb length. This is quite forward and if it can add some complexity to what is at the moment a very primary character, my rating will need to be adjusted upward. Positively vibrant, indeed almost friendly in its effusive style. Delicious if not profound.
