Tasting Notes

This estate’s second wine, the Bahans Haut-Brion, is a light, tart, fresh, feminine effort in 2004. Although lacking in fat and meatiness, it should provide pleasant drinking over the next 7-8 years.

Robert Parker, Wine Advocate (165), June 2006

Lovely, sweet fruit, with berry, chocolate and toasted oak. Medium- to full-bodied, with silky tannins and a long, fresh finish. Delicate and refined

89/91
James Suckling, Wine Spectator (April 05), April 2005

[CS 73%, 22%, CF5%] Rather smudgy and gorgeous on the nose. Some autumnal notes. Very evolved and soft. Easy to drink now but with Haut Brion character in spades. Quite rigorous and gentle. Definite framework but with lots of fruit in the middle. Slightly leafy note.
