CDP Cuvée Mourre des Perdrix, Domaine de la Charbonnière 2007

Tasting Notes

The 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Mourre des Perdrix is a more pretty, upfront and elegant red that still shows the downright sexy, exuberant characteristics of the vintage. Ripe black cherries, lavender, incense and roasted herbs all emerge from this seamless beauty which is drinking great today. This cuvee always comes from the sand and clay soils located just behind the estate and is 70% Grenache and 15% each of Syrah and Mourvedre. Drink 2010-2032.

Grenache Noir 70%, Syrah 15%, Mourvèdre 15%. With a little in tronconic wooden vats. Very serious, complex nose. Lovely balance and real delicacy on top of the richness. Really very good indeed even if not a blockbuster. All in perfect harmony.
