This is still quite youthful and while expressive, the nose remains completely fresh and primary, offering up notes of spicy, and lightly earthy, black cherry and blue fruit aromas nuanced by a hint of fresh coffee that are followed by energetic, delicious and notably serious medium-bodied flavors that are underpinned by mildly rustic tannins, which is somewhat surprising given the tendency of En Orveaux toward elegance and finesse. The finish displays a bit of backend warmth that compromises the balance a bit but overall, this is very Vosne in character and should eventually come together. To be completely fair, there is excellent, and rather sneaky, length and this is clearly just getting started as it should be capable of living for 20 to 30 years with no trouble and quite possiby longer than that. Note that even at 9 years of age that this required more than two hours of air to really emerge from its shell.
