Griotte Chambertin, Domaine Joseph Roty 2007

Tasting Notes

An elegant and high-toned nose that is notably more refined offers up mostly very ripe red pinot and black cherry fruit, cassis, violets and subtle earth notes that intermingle with big-bodied flavors that possess good richness and detail on the precise and concentrated finish. Moderate toast does surface on the backend but overall, this is more a wine of finesse than real power though its personality is certainly serious enough as it's sufficiently structured to reward up to a decade or perhaps even a bit more in the cellar. A fine effort in the context of the vintage.
