Tasting Notes

The 1999 Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru is a beautiful and comparatively pure example of the old Domaine Maume style, wafting from the glass with a blaze of rose petal, peony, wild berries, grilled meat and a touch of dried ceps, its floral top notes marrying stylishly with its wilder bass notes. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, vibrant and intense, with a fine-grained but still melting chassis of tannins, racy acids and a long, sapid finish.
