Richebourg, Domaine Jean Grivot 2001

Tasting Notes

This is a remarkably complete wine with its astonishing combination of power and precision with none of the usual rusticity that often marks young Richebourg. A cornucopia of earthy, floral black and blueberry fruits introduces big, powerful, ultra intense extremely ripe flavors of jaw dropping intensity underpinned by forceful, ripe buried tannins and a mouth coating, dusty, beautifully textured finish. The complexity here is simply phenomenal and this should be capable of at least two decades or more of prime drinkability. A superb effort.
