This changed radically from the last time that I saw it. Initially, relatively strong reduction knocked down the nose but it required no more than 15 minutes to completely dissipate to reveal spicy but subdued plum, violet and black pinot fruit aromas. Pure, intense and mineral-inflected middle weight flavors possess good mid-palate concentration and a truly lovely mouth feel as the class of Vosne is immediately evident as the altitude of Beaux Monts as this is not nearly as ripe as any number of these '09s. The finish is focused and still relatively tight with a lovely sense of verve. Overall, this is more a hypothetical blend of 2008 and 2009 as there is more obvious acid support and while it's not as rich or opulent as many '09s, I quite like this for its purity of expression and overall harmony.
