Tasting Notes

This has a deep garnet core with a degraded deep brick rim. The nose is very closed at first, brooding and biding its time. But you only need a couple of minutes of gentle aeration to coax out those gorgeous scents of blackberry, wild hedgerow, a touch of blueberry and a hint of vanilla from the oak. The palate is full-bodied, grainy almost chewy tannins, good acidity; fresh vibrant black fruit intermingled with spice, tar and a touch of pepper. Good persistency towards the slightly austere finish - this is an excellent Latour-a-Pomerol. Drink 2011-2025.

Dense, jewelly on the nose – very intense, rich and just saved from being over the top – certainly making a strong statement! Rich and opulent and long.
