Tasting Notes

A broad-based nose combines upper and lower register fruit aromas, particularly highly spiced cassis and black berry liqueur with plenty of secondary nuances that include violet, wet stone, anise, clove and earth, most of which are also reflected by the extract-rich, full and serious tautly muscular flavors that are shaped by the firmly tannic spine and simply stunning length. As it typically is, this is a very powerful wine that should age effortlessly for years.

Bright, dark red. Vibrant, perfumed aromas and flavors of blackberry, black raspberry, minerals and violet; I would have been hard-pressed to identify this as a 2009. Chewy, dry and classic, showing outstanding concentration and density of texture. Quite compact and austere for 2009 but offers exciting potential. The tannins build on the palate-staining finish.
