(Fritz Haag Brauneberger Juffer-Sonnenuhr Riesling Spätlese #14 Auction) This great wine more than delivered on the upside potential it exhibited at an early stage when we tasted it at the auction (see our Auction Report 2008). It delivers a most staggering and rich nose of mirabelle, a hint of grapefruit, fine spices, whipped cream and herbs. The wine has the presence of a rich Auslese on the silky and multi-layered palate and proves really too sweet at this stage for being fully enjoyable. But the fruit intensity and purity are just breathtakingly gorgeous. What a stunner of a wine in the making! 2022-2042
