The 2009 is nearly as profound. Deep ruby/purple, with loads of black raspberries, kirsch, licorice, incense and a hint of truffle as well as Provencal herbs, the wine is richer, more voluptuous and fruit-forward than the 2010, with exquisite concentration, definition and length. This must be hitting 15.5% in alcohol, given the glycerin and unctuosity of the wine, but nevertheless it comes across as fresh and lively.
