Chambertin, Domaine Rossignol-Trapet 2009

Tasting Notes

**Note: from two parcels of vines approximately 40 years old and a third that was originally planted in 1919**
This is also notably ripe yet very cool with an unusually elegant airy upper register notes of wild red berry fruit, crushed stone and freshly ground pepper. There is a lovely floral character to the intense and well-detailed broad-shouldered flavors that possess a taut muscularity on the linear, driving, explosive and wonderfully long finish. This is not a truly big Chambertin but it is powerful and serious and more important still, impeccably well-balanced.
