Bonnes Mares, Domaine Francois Bertheau 2010

Tasting Notes

Classic blend of Vosne spice with Nuits body and weigh with intense flavors and slightly rustic tannins. The nose is intensely aromatic and curiously enough, given the robust flavors, it still manages to exude elegance and sophistication. The overall impression is really quite fine with excellent concentration and sneaky length.

A discreet touch of wood sets off ripe, pure, fresh and lightly spiced cool red currant and cherry aromas. There is good power to the focused, intense and broad-scaled flavors that are shaped by ripe structural elements before culminating in an explosive, dusty and impressively long finish. This is a robust effort fashioned in a medium-bodied package that displays really beautiful balance. This should be excellent.
