Tasting Notes

Moderate wood spice highlights the notably ripe and highly expressive nose of earth and naturally spicy black pinot fruit that leads to rich, full and also very ripe big-bodied extract of pinot fruit flavors that possess good detail if perhaps a hair less concentration, all wrapped in a robust, muscular and wonderfully intense finish where a trace of wood resurfaces. I like this for its fine sense of overall balance and it should age gracefully. Recommended.

A very intense nose, quite floral with red cherries, wild strawberry and a touch of mulberry. Very fine definition. The palate is full-bodied, sinewy and well defined, with firm tannins cloaked in sweet red-berried fruits. Real depth here, with succulent cherries infused with a touch of iodine on the finish. Very good length. Great breeding and panache. Drinking 2010-2016. Tasted January 2007.
