Tasting Notes

**Note: from 55 year old vines now that the older vines have been grubbed up**
Fairly pronounced new oak aromas frame dark, ripe and spicy small berry fruit aromas that give way to round, sweet and earthy flavors nuanced by notes of truffle and game. There is abundant sap to buffer the dense and firm yet fine tannins and this finishes with a very firm and linear quality with a touch of added lift from the subtle minerality found here. I very much like this as it's a combination of power and finesse with plenty of finishing pop though the oak may take some time to fully integrate as it's presently quite strong.
