Engine oil, treacle, prune. It has all the knowledge and compression of fossil fuel. Tastes neat, like it should be diluted before consumption, almost.

The 1969 Rivesaltes has a deep amber colour. It has a captivating bouquet with Seville orange marmalade, quince, furniture polish and just a touch of copper piping. The palate is medium-bodied with lovely marmalade, quince, fig and prune notes, exactly the right amount of dryness/sweetness with a long spicy aftertaste of Chinese 5-spice and cardamom. This sports the most madeirisation of the Rivesaltes tasted from Riveyrac, but it works supremely well. Tasted with Philippe Gayral. 2018 - 2030
